摘要: 年龄相关性黄斑变性(age-related macular degeneration, AMD)是导致60岁以上人群视力障碍主要原因之一。干性AMD的主要病理特征是视网膜色素上皮(retinal pigment epithelium, RPE)细胞的退化死亡,而氧化应激是引起RPE损伤的主要因素。在RPE抵抗氧化应激损伤的过程中,自噬起到关键作用。持续的氧化应激会降低细胞自噬,并激活炎性小体引发炎症,加重RPE损伤。自噬损伤在AMD的发生发展中起重要作用。(国际眼科纵览,2021, 45: 341-345)

Abstract: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is recognized as the leading cause of visual impairment among people over 60 years old. The main pathological feature of dry AMD is the degeneration and death of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), in while oxidative stress is the major cause of death of RPE. In the resistance of RPE to oxidative stress, autophagy plays a key role. Sustained oxidative stress can lead to dysfunction of autophagy, which can activate inflammasomes and cause inflammation, and finally exacerbate the damage of RPE. Dysregulated autophagy has a great impact on the development of AMD. (Int Rev Ophthalmol, 2021, 45: 341-345)
